ICT Minister, Honourable Nicholas Dausi, recently urged participants at the Communication Regulators Association of Southern Africa (CRASA) committee meetings to make the life of ICT consumer easier when they visit each other within the SADC region.
He was speaking at the official opening of the CRASA Universal Service and Access Committee, and the CRASA Roaming Task Team Committee at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe.
“For the roaming task team committee, your job is to make our life easier as we visit each other within the SADC region.
“We expect you to work on tariffs so that we can be able to roam like local,” Honourable Dausi said.
He said SADC members are not supposed to be charged exorbitant tariffs on phone calls when they travel within the region saying that has to be addressed.
The meeting attracted participants from Malawi, Zambia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Swaziland and Namibia.
