urged online users to make a positive difference online and refrain from abusing the internet. “as users everyone has the right to report any inappropriate or illegal content circulating online.

The call for safer, appropriate and respectable use of the internet comes at a crucial time as we are the era of fake news, cyber harassment and bullying, forwarding of inappropriate nude and pornographic material, forwarding of graphic pictures of fatal accidents and pictures of the dead.

The newly enacted E-Transaction and Cyber Security act of 2016 criminalizes among other things production and distribution of child pornography, cyber bullying and harassment. “The Laws of the country recognize that as we post things online we are now online editors and as editors in the physical world we shall be held liable for any infringing content that we may post online.
